Marc-André ter Stegen is in the squad for Barcelona’s game against Granada on Sunday evening despite missing their last two games with a knee complaint.

The goalkeeper was out for the Blaugrana’s pre-Christmas derby draw against Espanyol and was also sidelined for the Supercopa de España semi-final defeat to Atlético Madrid last week.

But new boss Quique Setién has named the German in his 18-man squad for Sunday’s match at Camp Nou and, barring any further injuries, he is expected to be available for the rest of the campaign.

Barcelona’s medical staff have told Ter Stegen that he does have a small, underlying issue in his right knee and should have surgery in the future.

The 27-year-old will likely play out the remainder of the season and take his place in the Germany squad for this summer’s European Championships, and will then go under the knife some time in late July.
