The attendance during the Supercoppa Italiana clash involving Napoli and Fiorentina was a rather disappointing one.
The Partenopei grabbed a rather convincing 3-0 win in the semi-final. Giovanni Simeone opened the scoring for Walter Mazzarri’s side and substitute Alessia Zerbin came on and grabbed a late brace to pretty much settle the tie for the Naples-based giants.
But the disappointing part about a rather entertaining game was the attendance. Less than 10,000 fans attended the game in Riyadh, with the exact number said to be at 9762, which is fairly underwhelming considering that the new-look tournament is taking place over a thousand kilometres away from Italy.
The second semi-final takes place tomorrow and it will involve Lazio and Inter and while the hope is that more fans will watch that hope, Biancocelesti boss Maurizio Sarri has already taken shots at the tournament.
The winner of tomorrow’s game takes on Napoli in the final on Monday evening.
