It’s a tasty midweek round of Premier League fixtures tonight, with interesting matchups all over the league.

Chelsea’s game against Southampton is one of the more predictable a games, at least according to Harry Redknapp, who was predicting the scores for a betting site. He not only backed the Blues to win the game – he insists that they’re in the title race too. Which is something even Enzo Maresca isn’t doing right now.

“Whisper it, but Chelsea are firmly in this title race. I don’t think Enzo Maresca is getting enough credit for the job he’s doing here,” Redknapp wrote.

“I know people will say they had a lot of talent in the squad, but he’s really getting the most out of it. I’ve got to go with Chelsea, they look so good going forward.”

He backs a 2-0 away win for Maresca’s team. But he does point out that Southampton are a better team than they seem, and could easily have a lot more points than they currently do. Maresca called this the “worst game” of the season so far, in that it could so easily be a banana skin for his team if they become complacent.

Redknapp backs Enzo to continue his big revival

As well as a score prediction, Redknapp was also asked to pick out “one to watch” from the game. He plumped for the man of the moment, Enzo Fernandez, who is having a revival with two goals and an assist in his last two Chelsea games following the change in shape which moved him further forward to play in the attacking line.

“I’m actually not saying Cole Palmer for once! Enzo Fernandez has been superb in the last few weeks and looks more and more like the player Chelsea spent all that money on!”
