Graham Roberts has singled out Richarlison for praise after his performance for Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Richarlison continued his excellent run of form in front of goal as he netted with a well-taken header in the first half.

It got Tottenham back on level terms after Rasmus Hojlund opened the scoring inside the opening three minutes.

Ange Postecoglou’s completely dominated for large periods of the game but looked vulnerable on the counter.

Marcus Rashford hit Spurs against the run of play in the 40th minute after combining with Hojlund. But Spurs showed their resilience once again as they hit back through Rodrigo Bentancur just a minute into the second half.

While Postecoglou will undoubtedly be frustrated that his side failed to make the most of a dominant display on the road, there were plenty of positives for the Aussie boss.

Richarlison’s display up front was certainly one of them as the 26-year-old led the line brilliantly for Tottenham. And his display has earned him praise from Tottenham legend Graham Roberts.

Roberts lauds ‘superb’ Richarlison after Old Trafford draw

Roberts took to X after Sunday’s game and reflected on the 2-2 draw at Old Trafford.

The Spurs legend singled out Richarlison for praise, labelling the forward’s performance ‘superb’.

He wrote: “I was very pleased with the lads there and Richy was superb I thought and Bentancur.

“Great to have Romero and Micky back. COYS onwards and upwards.

“To lose Kane and score goals like we do says so much about Big Ange.”

Richarlison has stepped up in recent weeks and seems rejuvenated after returning from a groin injury.

The former Everton man has netted six times in his last six appearances in the Premier League.

It feels vital that Richarlison continues his current form, especially with Heung-Min Son away at the Asian Cup at the moment.

Spurs have also been boosted by the addition of Timo Werner, who grabbed an assist on his debut today.
