Following the ceremony of Lamine Yamal’s contract signing and presentation of the No. 10 agent, Barcelona president Joan Laporta held a dinner meeting with director Deco and superagent Jorge Mendes.
The meeting was not only a celebration for the successful renewal of Lamine, but also served as an avenue for them to discuss the market situation.
And, one of the names put forth on the table during the discussions between the Barcelona officials and Mendes happens to be Denzel Dumfries.
Indeed, according to SPORT, the Inter Milan wing-back, now represented by the Portuguese agent, has been offered to Barcelona, with his release clause price dropping to €25 million until the end of July.
With under two weeks left before that deadline expires, Mendes is understood to have pushed Barça for a decision on the Netherlands international.
Dumfries is highly rated by the sporting department and especially by Hansi Flick, but the club currently has other priorities, particularly the signing of a winger. With just over ten days left to make a decision, the player would be delighted to sign.

Dumfries’ name was first brought to Barcelona’s attention several weeks ago. During the early stages of planning, the club looked for a physically strong, attacking full-back and considered Jeremie Frimpong, who ultimately signed for Liverpool for around €40 million.
Barcelona gathered all the necessary information on Dumfries, but so far, no formal move has been made. The player’s salary is entirely manageable for the Catalans, and his addition would offer a different profile from what is currently available in the squad.
While he fits the club’s needs, difficulties registering players and the focus on strengthening the attack have pushed this option aside.
Inter Milan expect Dumfries to leave before the end of July, and, in Italy, he has only been linked with Barcelona and Manchester City.
The Italian giants believe a transfer will materialise in the final days of the month and are already working on replacements to cover his potential departure. Whether Barça act on their interest remains to be seen.
