The Net World Sports Predictor has revealed the likeliest outcome of the Championship play-off battle based on their calculations.
The prediction has been made based on the results of 10,000 simulated seasons, with their final table taking the average results.
The battle for a top six position in the second tier is quite intense, with Ipswich Town and Southampton occupying a strong position in third and fourth.
According to Net World Sports, the two clubs will seal third and fourth in the table, narrowly missing out on automatic promotion to Leicester City and Leeds United.
That leaves just two spots left for West Brom, Hull City, Norwich City, Preston North End and Coventry City to fight for.
Here we look at the results of the super computer’s final Championship standings based on a simulation of 10,000 seasons…
West Brom are in the most comfortable position of the sides outside the top four, with the Baggies currently eight points clear of seventh place Hull City, but having played a game more.
Carlos Corberan’s side are predicted to cement their fifth place in the table by the end of the campaign, with the super computer giving them a 98 per cent chance at play-off qualification.
However, it gets less comfortable for the teams below Albion, where the points totals are much tighter as we prepare to come back from the March international break this week.
Norwich currently sit in that final play-off place, but the gap to the Tigers is just three points while also having played a game more.
But the super computer believes that David Wagner’s side has a 51.2 per cent of maintaining that position by the end of the regular term.
It has claimed the Canaries will reach 74 points, which will be enough to earn a chance at promotion to the Premier League.
Interestingly, it has also predicted a play-off semi-final clash between heated rivals Norwich and Ipswich, which would be a repeat of the 2014-15 in which the Norfolk outfit prevailed 4-2 on aggregate before going on to secure promotion to the top flight.
Meanwhile, the super computer has predicted heartbreak for the likes of Hull, Coventry and Preston.
The trio are on the outside looking in at the moment, but the Sky Blues are just four points adrift in eighth, with Ryan Lowe’s side one point further back.
Middlesbrough and Cardiff City may also consider themselves in contention, but will need an extremely good run of form to overturn the seven and eight point gap to Norwich that they face.
Of these clubs, the super computer has given Coventry the best opportunity of earning a play-off place, giving them a 28.8 per cent chance.
Liam Rosenior’s Hull side has been given a 17.2 per cent chance of reaching the top six, while Preston and Boro have been given 3.4 and 1.4 per cent, respectively.
