The Lady Black Cats announced the news via a post on their official club website earlier today.
The 27-year-old Dublin-born midfielder joins Sunderland after leaving former club Birmingham City earlier this summer. Finn spent four years with Blues in which she made more than 50 appearances for the club in all competitions. The player would have made a greater impact in her time in the Midlands if not for an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury.
Prior to her time playing in England, Finn developed in her native Republic of Ireland with Raheny United and Shelbourne.
On the international stage, Finn has been capped by the Republic of Ireland on 16 occasions. She will be hoping to return to the international fold after overcoming long-term injury and proving her fitness towards the end of last season.
After completing her move to Sunderland, Finn said “I had great conversations with Mel [Reay] and Steph [Libbey] about where the team want to go. It’s such a historic club so I’m really happy to have signed and I’m excited to get going.”
Finn is Sunderland’s fifth signing of the summer transfer window.
