Championship side Sunderland are into the Adobe Women’s FA Cup quarter-finals, Chelsea had to come from behind to beat Everton, Liverpool struggled to see off a resilient Rugby Borough.

Sunderland carry the Championship flag in the quarter-finals, following victory away to Portsmouth.
Jenna Dear put Sunderland one up from the edge of the box, Emily Scarr breaking through the middle to increase the advantage in first-half added time.
Pompey’s Scarlett Williams received a second caution for a challenge in the dying minutes.

Chelsea had to come from behind to overcome Everton 4-1, twice scoring from the spot.
The visitors went ahead from a 16th-minute corner, Sara Holmgaard’s inswinging corner going over Hannah Hampton and inside the far post.
Courtney Brosnan turned over a Johanna Rytting Kaneryd header moments later but when Ashley Lawrence was pulled back in the area, Catarina Macario stepped up to equalise from the spot.
The Toffees were struggling to stay level until the interval and fell behind when Mayra Ramirez got away to lob the keeper.
There was a tap in for Maika Hamano soon after coming off the bench, as she followed up Ramirez’s header onto the post.
Sandy Baltimore completed the scoring in added time, after Aggie Beever-Jones was fouled in the penalty area.

Arsenal saw off Championship title-chasers London City Lionesses with a goal in either half.
The Gunners got the breakthrough just after the half-hour mark, Laia Codina heading back across the goal and in from a Kyra Cooney-Cross delivery.
Stina Blackstenius made sure of the victory when doubling the lead inside the final ten minutes.
Third-tier Rugby Borough held out until the dying minutes against Liverpool. before bowing out of the competition.
Sophie Roman Haug hit the home post in the first half, as Liverpool struggled to make any clearcut chances.
With 20 minutes, left Angelina Nixon broke forward for Borough and forced a save from Rachel Laws, the danger eventually passing for Liverpool.
Leanne Kiernan rattled the Rugby crossbar, then with seven minutes of the 90 left Marie Hobinger fired from 20 yards into the far corner.
In added time, Hobinger hooked the ball into the box and Mia Enderby lashed it home on the half-volley.
The WSL’s bottom team Crystal Palace saw off Championship side Newcastle United with a goal in the last ten minutes.
Ashleigh Weerden found space to slot home past Claudia Moan from a cross by Abbie Larkin, whose deflected effort in stoppage time looped over the keeper and in.
Manchester City saw off Leicester City 3-1, building a three-goal lead before conceding a late reply.
The hosts struck twice inside the half-hour, Leila Ouahabi finding the net after a series of blocked attempts, Kerolin Nicoli then doubling the lead with a deft angled chip.
Khadija Shaw sealed Man City’s progress with the third, a header from Aoba Fujino’s cross, although Nelly Las replied for the Foxes late on aided by Ruby Mace.
