According to Cittaceleste, the player is keen to remain at the Stadium of Light for another season, having enjoyed a fairly successful first campaign on Wearside.

The 18-year-old was one of the first names on the teamsheet for the Black Cats during the 2023/24 campaign, even though he hadn't started too frequently for his previous club Birmingham City.

Managing to get himself on the scoresheet on a number of occasions, the youngster has been able to adapt well to playing senior football regularly and has done enough to attract interest from elsewhere.

Chelsea previously took an interest in the player and the same could be said for Tottenham Hotspur, who recently moved to sign fellow youngster Archie Gray from the Championship.

However, the player has stayed put at this point and could be set to play a big part under Regis Le Bris during the 2024/25 campaign.

Le Bris has been able to retain the vast majority of his squad thus far, including the likes of Bellingham, Jack Clarke and Pierre Ekwah, all of whom were crucial players at the Stadium of Light last season.

The Italian side are another team that are thought to be interested in the player.

Having seen his brother thrive abroad, both in Germany with Borussia Dortmund and now in Spain with Real Madrid, the player could have been tempted by a potential move overseas.

This may have given the Serie A side hope that they would be able to get a deal over the line for the England youth international.

But according to Cittaceleste, the player is keen to remain at the Stadium of Light for another season before moving on from Wearside.

He is keen to play in the Premier League after that, which is a blow for the Italian club who may miss out on the player because of his stance.

€15m could be enough to get a deal over the line, according to Cittaceleste, but the Black Cats may be able to hold out for a lot more considering their strong negotiating position.

Sunderland will be delighted if they are able to keep Jobe Bellingham

The Black Cats will benefit from retaining Bellingham.

He didn't register that many assists last term and this is something he will want to improve, but at 18, he will only get better.

It wouldn't be a surprise to see him get into double figures for goals during the upcoming campaign and those contributions may be needed for a couple of key reasons.

Firstly, it wouldn't be a shock to see Clarke leave and if he does, that will leave a huge goalscoring void in the team. Bellingham could step up to the plate in his absence.

Secondly, the Black Cats have struggled in the striker department in recent years and having a goalscorer like the young Englishman would be beneficial.

If they can keep him for at least another season, that would be a real boost for the Black Cats.
