According to a report from Foot Mercato, several clubs are interested in signing Georges Mikautadze (24) from Lyon this summer. Newly promoted Sunderland are one of the clubs interested in recruiting the Georgian international attacker from Les Gones. The 24-year-old would be the second arrival from Ligue 1 at the Stadium of Light this summer, after Black Cats broke their record transfer to sign Habib Diarra from Strasbourg.

Eintracht Frankfurt are also interested in Mikautadze. The OL striker could be seen as a potential replacement for the coveted Hugo Ekitiké, who has attracted the interest of many clubs this summer, including Liverpool and Chelsea.

There is also interest outside of Europe in the forward’s services. The Lyon-born attacker is also attracting interest from Saudi Arabia. Mikautadze could be prised away from his boyhood club, given that they have been relegated to Ligue 2 pending appeal.
