Sunderland Defender Due For Medical At French Club | OneFootball

Sunderland defender Timothee Pembele is scheduled to undergo a medical at Le Havre today ahead of a loan switch on deadline day.

The French right-back joined Sunderland from Paris Saint-Germain last summer but struggled to settle in England.

He made just eight Championship appearances last season and has not been involved at the start of the ongoing campaign.

Sunderland have been open to letting him go this summer and his future is set to be sorted out on deadline day.

Pembele is set to return to France and according to French sports daily L’Equipe, Le Havre are set to sign him from Sunderland.

A loan agreement is in place between the two clubs and Pembele is due for a medical at Le Havre today.

Once he passes a medical, the defender will sign a loan contract to spend the season at Le Havre.

It is unclear whether he has a long-term future at Sunderland but Le Havre will not have an option to buy him in the agreement.
