Sunderland have announced the signing of Colombian winger Ian Poveda from Leeds United.
The club have confirmed the contract will run for three years, and includes an option for a further year's extension.
“All I want to do is get on the pitch and play for Sunderland," the 24-year-old told the club's website.
"I feel like I have the right people at the Club supporting me and the love I’ve already received from the people here is something I can’t describe. I’m a creative player with good one-on-one ability, who is never afraid to take anyone on. I’ll work hard for the team and I’m excited to get started.”
The 24-year-old was born in Southwark, and represented England at all international youth levels before opting to join the Colombian national team at senior level.
Arriving from Manchester City in 2020, Poveda has made just 25 appearances for Leeds, and has been sent out on loan to Blackburn Rovers, Blackpool and Sheffield Wednesday.
