Sunderland and Luton Town interested in signing Willem Geubbels | OneFootball

According to Foot Mercato, Sunderland and Luton Town are interested in signing Willem Geubbels (23) from St. Gallen. The Swiss club have rejected a series of bids for the French striker recently as interest ramps up in the player’s services with the transfer deadline approaching.

St. Gallen have rejected 3 bids from interested clubs in the January transfer window. Luton saw a bid worth €8m rejected for Geubbels. However, this isn’t expected to deter interest from clubs as they seek to sign the former Les Monégasques forward. Blackburn Rovers and Union Berlin have also seen offers rejected by the Swiss Super League clubs.

Sunderland to submit offer

Whilst the EFL Championship club have not yet submitted an offer for Geubbels, that is expected to change in the coming days before the 3rd of February deadline. As they seek promotion to the Premier League, the St. Gallen forward is seen as an ideal fit to bolster Regis Le Bris’ attacking options.
