According to reports from Le Parisien and Foot Mercato, Sunderland and RC Lens have reached an agreement over the loan of Salis Abdul Samed (24).

Abdul Samed had been in the shop window for Lens this summer with multiple French clubs interested in making a deal for the Ghanaian international who has been placed in the “loft” by the new manager Will Still.

FC Nantes, Stade Brestois, and AS Saint-Étienne had all been linked with a move for the out-of-favour midfielder. However, instead, it appears as if the midfielder will likely be leaving France for England.

It has been reported that a deal between the French side and Sunderland, now managed by former FC Lorient manager Régis Le Bris, has been concluded. Abdul Samed will join the Black Cats on a straight loan deal that will not include the option to make the move permanent. He is expected to arrive on Wearside in the coming hours in order to undergo his medical.
