While the 2023/24 football season has entered the home straight, plans are of course already underway for the coming campaign. The summer schedule is now “in place”. Borussia Dortmund will commence their preparations at the start of July.

The squad will reconvene for the first time following the summer break for the performance diagnostics tests at the Hohenbuschei training centre on 3 July. The first friendly fixtures will be the DEW Dream Match in Holzwickede (08/07) and away to Erzgebirge Aue (17/07).

The team will travel to Asia, including Japan, between 19 and 25 July. BVB will go up against Cerezo Osaka – the current club of former Borussia player Shinji Kagawa, who won two league titles and the DFB-Pokal with Borussia Dortmund – in the “EuroJapan Cup”. For BVB, it will be the first meeting with Cerezo Osaka and the first match in the Japanese region of Kansai. One more fixture that will take place during the Asia Tour is currently still being finalised.

The team will then make the journey to Bad Ragaz, where they will hold a training camp from 1 to 9 August. During that time period, BVB will play a friendly against Spanish club Villarreal in Altach (6 August).

Back in Dortmund, Borussia will celebrate the season opening ceremony with their fans on 10 August and will mark the occasion with a friendly against the current fifth-placed club in the English Premier League, Aston Villa, at SIGNAL IDUNA PARK.

Further information on the exact dates and ticket sales will follow.
