Eveliina Summanen has taken the Goal of the Month award for November after her incredible strike against Aston Villa.

Facing Villa in the second game of our Women’s League Cup group phase, a moment of magic was needed to separate the sides and the midfielder produced that on the hour mark, picking out the top right corner of the net from almost 40 yards out.

That goal turned out to be the winner at Brisbane Road as we edged out our opponents to make it two wins out of two in the competition.

The strike edged competition from James Maddison’s free-kick also against Aston Villa in the Premier League (18 per cent) and Under-18s forward Luca Williams-Barnett’s halfway goal in the victory over Leicester City (17 per cent).
