Our team won our first pre-season friendly match against German third-division side Spielvereinigung Unterhaching 3-0. Goals were scored by Adam Daghim, Maurits Kjaergaard and Hendry Blank.
Amid soaring temperatures, our boys needed no time to settle under new coach Pepijn Lijnders in his favoured 4-3-3 system. Karim Konate – in the first minute of play - and Moussa Yeo were a real hazard in front of opposing goalkeeper Heide. Jastremski and Ihorst were also able to threaten for Unterhaching.
The first goal in the game fell to Adam Daghim, who finished a quick attack on the right superbly (43'). Maurits Kjaergaard then capped a good first-half by making it 2-0 at the break by converting an indirect free-kick from inside the area given for dissent (45').
There was a raft of changes at the break, and we began the second period with eleven new players. Samson Baidoo served up the first highlight of the second period by heading onto the crossbar. Unterhaching tried to force a way back into the game, but a goal wouldn't come for them - and Hendry Blank was able to make it 3-0 with a header from a corner (69'). Aleksa Terzic tested the sturdiness of the opposition goalframe, but his fierce drive onto the post was the last chance in our first pre-season friendly match.
Blaswich (46.' Krumrey); Dedic (46' Van der Brempt), Piatkowski (46' Baidoo/72' Kameri), Okoh (46' Blank/80' Wallner), Guindo (46' Terzic); Capaldo (46' Bidstrup), Diambou (46' Tijani), Kjaergaard (46' Gloukh); Daghim (46' Forson), Konate (46' Simic), Yeo (46' Nene)

• We have another training session tomorrow, with our boys getting a day off on Monday.
I liked a lot of things. We wanted to pen the opponents back into their own half, press them and bring our intensity to bear. We asked a lot of the players in these temperatures and after a really hard week of training. We still have to find our way further, but we had good energy, a good tempo and good body language - that's the attitude we want to dominate matches with.

I have waited a long time to get the chance to play for this club. That made me even more pleased about my goal, but we played really well as a team. We had the match under control for the entire 90 minutes. The coaching team set us up well, and we trained set pieces intensively yesterday, in particular - I had to be in the right place for my goal. We want to really give our all in pre-season and get better all the time so we are ready for the season.
