Borussia Dortmund were comfortably beaten by Stuttgart as their unbeaten start to the Bundesliga season came to an end.
Nuri Şahin's side were behind just four minutes into the game as Deniz Undav poked past Gregor Kobel, and they were 2-0 down midway through the first half as striker Ermedin Demirović nodded home to hand his side a strong advantage.
Dortmund couldn't build any sort of rhythm, taking until the final minute of first half stoppage time to register an effort on target as Jamie Bynoe-Gittens saw his effort saved.
That miss proved costly as the second half continued in much the same fashion, with Stuttgart stretching their advantage further yet as Enzo Millot added a third just after the hour mark.
Dortmund pulled a goal back through former Stuttgart man Serhou Guirassy, but any hopes of a comeback were short-lived as the home side took just five minutes to restore their three goal lead, with El-Bilal Touré scoring just a minute after coming on as a substitute.
There was still time to add a fifth goal, as Undav pounced again to add the gloss to a thrashing in Stuttgart.
