With less than 24 hours remaining in the summer transfer window, Toulouse are set to see yet another member of their Coupe de France-winning team depart before midnight.
According to L’Équipe this morning, Stuttgart have reached an agreement with Les Violets to sign French defender Anthony Rouault on an initial loan deal with an option to make the move permanent. The centre-back, whose contract expires at the end of the campaign, now needs to give his definitive response to the Bundesliga outfit.
The 22-year-old, who came up through the ranks at Toulouse, was a regular starter last season. He featured 37 times in Ligue 1, chipping in with two goals. However, he is yet to make an appearance this year. Rouault was reportedly the subject of interest from another German club in Mainz last year, in the wake of the defender’s Ligue 2 title win with his formative club.
