Andrey Santos (20) may have only played 11 games for RC Strasbourg Alsace after joining the French side from fellow BlueCo-owned club Chelsea in January, however, he made an impression. The diminutive Brazilian midfielder changed the fortunes of Patrick Vieira’s side and played a considerable role in helping them achieve safety in France’s tp-flight. Les Alsaciens had harboured hope of retaining Santos for a further season, however, those hopes are now dwindling.

As reported by L’Équipe journalist Cyril Olivès-Berthet, with the managerial change at Chelsea, Santos is likely to spend the pre-season with the Premier League club. Following Mauricio Pochettino’s departure at the end of the season, the Blues are looking to swiftly conclude the arrival of Leicester City boss Enzo Maresca. The latter, who will acquaint himself with his new squad over the course of the summer, would understandably like to have a good look at Santos.

That, in itself, decreases Santos’ chances of going back on loan but should Maresca deem another loan move the best option for Santos, there may be competition for his signature this time around with Olivès-Berthet revealing interest from Portuguese side Porto.
