Strasbourg to sign Valentín Barco permanently from Brighton for €10m | OneFootball

Strasbourg have completed the permanent signing of Argentina international Valentín Barco (19) from Brighton & Hove Albion, after triggering the automatic purchase clause in his loan deal – according to a report from L’Équipe.Barco joined Racing on loan in January, and impressed during the second half of the season under Liam Rosenior. Signed initially as a wide defender, Barco quickly adapted to an unexpected role in midfield. The Argentine featured in 14 Ligue 1 appearances last season as Strasbourg finished seventh and qualifying for the UEFA Conference League play-offs.The deal is understood to be worth €10m, and follows Strasbourg’s recent moves to make Andrew Omobamidele and Samuel Amo-Ameyaw’s stays permanent. A product of Boca Juniors, Barco joined Brighton in early 2024 where he made six appearances under current Marseille boss Roberto De Zerbi.
