RC Strasbourg Alsace will have to do without key midfielder Andrey Santos when they come up against fellow European challengers Stade Brestois.
The Chelsea loanee is suspended for the encounter, forcing Liam Rosenior to opt for a midfield pivot of Habib Diarra and Ismaël Doukouré. There is also an absentee in the defence. Andrew Omobamidele, signed from Nottingham Forest on loan during the winter transfer window, picked up an achilles injury early on during last week’s win over RC Lens and therefore misses out. His period of absence is estimated to be between three to four weeks.
In his absence, Strasbourg are expected to align a four-man defence with Abakar Sylla and Mamadou Sarr occupying the central positions against Brest. Valentín Barco will continue at left-back.
