Lazio goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha expressed his emotions following the Biancocelesti fans’ support before the match against Cagliari.

As seen in a post on Strakosha’s Instagram page last night, the 26-year-old Albanian shot-stopper was deeply emotional following the loud cheers and songs from fans of the Roman club in the Stadio Olimpico yesterday, ahead of kickoff against the Rossoblu.

Below are Strakosha’s comments:

I have no words to describe what I felt today entering the pith from the applause, the affection and finally to the banner singing my name.  I tried but I couldn’t hold back the tears and the only thing I can say is thank you Lazio fans for your affection and support, this moment will remain in my heart for the rest of my life.

The 26-year-old Strakosha, who is contracted to Lazio until next year in 2022, is currently going through a hard time.

The Albanian shot-stopper made a fatal error in the Europa League clash against Galatasaray last week, gifting them three points in the opening group match.

Strakosha lost his starting spot to Spanish veteran Pepe Reina at the start of last season and hasn’t seemed the same since with his confidence clearly shaken.

The loud cheers and applause from the fans ahead of the match against Cagliari yesterday was important for the player, who is still recovering from the Galatasaray mistake.
