However, the 24-year old has withdrawn from the camp having suffered an unspecified injury.

Brown missed the Potters’ most recent Championship clash against QPR, a scoreless draw last weekend.

It has now been made official that the injury is severe enough to keep him out of action for the national team over the next 10 days.

Brown has proven to be an important player for Stoke in recent years, playing nine of the team’s 10 league fixtures so far this season.

New manager Alex Neil has attempted to move him into a wing-back role since joining the club at the end of August.

In his two appearances in this new position, the team have won one and lost one.

He will be hoping to return to action when the league action resumes on October 2, with Neil’s side set to face Watford.

The Verdict

Brown has performed well for Stoke a lot in the past, scoring an impressive 13 goals for the team in the league last season.

It will be hoped that he isn’t out injured for too long, but there are still a lot of uncertainties over the extent of the problem.

Neil has arrived at Stoke and earned four points from his first three games in charge.

That has moved the club up to 14th in the second division table heading into the international break.
