Back in January, French midfielder Maxence Caqueret (24) left Olympique Lyonnais after 12 years at the club. Serie A side Como announced the €16.5m signing of the Gones midfielder after Caqueret suffered from dwindling first-team playing time and opportunities this season. In an interview with Free Foot, the Frenchman opened up on his departure to the Italian lakes. “Honestly I was quite apprehensive about my departure from Lyon because it’s been 12 years since I was in the same club, and sometimes you can be fearful of change,” said the midfielder who has played in nine matches this season for the promoted side, currently sat 13th in Serie A. “Whatever happens, OL will always be my hometownv club. It’s where I’ve spent the best years of my career so far,” said the France U21 international. “But after that, it’s surely not the ending I imagined at Lyon. Leaving after two months without playing is still a bit difficult to swallow.”GFFN | George Boxall
