Inter coach Simone Inzaghi currently has the full backing of his President Steven Zhang, but this could be eroded significantly if the team do not show any signs of turning things around in their next two matches against Roma and Barcelona.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who suggests that even accounting for the heavy absences of Romelu Lukaku and Marcelo Brozovic, the President’s faith could be shaken if he doesn’t see the signs of life he wants from the team.

Zhang is in Italy and will be at the San Siro to watch his team face both Roma in Serie A and then Barcelona in the Champions League.

The President arrives at a very delicate period after the team’s start to the season could be generously described as mixed, and they return from the international break with two difficult matches in which to turn things around and missing two key players in the form of Lukaku and Brozovic.

The President is hardly likely to have a knee-jerk reaction to the team not being perfect in these circumstances, but he’ll have seen a lack of fight and cohesion in their losses prior to the break, and at the very least he will be expecting to see these qualities exhibited against the Giallorossi.
