Steve Clarke might notice that Karamoko Dembele is doing rather well

Good to see former Celtic starlet Karamoko Dembele doing well, could a Scotland call up be on the cards?

Karamoko Dembele was hailed as a superstar in the making from an early age at Celtic. He was hotly tipped to be the next best thing, and was even named as UEFA as one of the most exciting talents in European football.

Unfortunately for Karamoko it didn’t work out for him at Celtic despite making eight first team appearances and scoring one goal. While he had undoubted talent, he was inconsistent and looked a little small and lightweight for the rigours of the Scottish game.

A move to French side Brest was seen as a fresh start for Karamoko and a chance to fulfil his true potential. However he failed to hit the heights in France and after two seasons he was on the move again this time to England where he joined Blackpool.

Karamoko Dembele has flourished at the league one side and has showed his undoubted potential by scoring eight goals and providing 12 assists for the Seasiders in his first season at the club.

It’s good to see the young man finally doing well, and it would be good to see him being recognised at international level by receiving a call up to the Scotland squad for the upcoming European Championships.

Karamoko apparently nailed his colours to the England mast a few years ago, but has only ever represented them at under 18 level. He’s also eligible for Scotland whom he represented at youth level, and the country of his parents, the Ivory Coast.

Realistically he’s never going to get a call up to the England squad, but the Ivory Coast could come knocking, so Steve Clark could do worse than considering inviting him to the Euros.
