Chelsea will entertain Manchester United at Stamford Bridge this Thursday night as they look to earn a good result at home in the Premier League. The Blues were held to a 2-2 draw against Burnley recently, so they would be eager to get back to winning ways this week.

Mauricio Pochettino will opt for the 4-2-3-1 formation and could make a couple of tweaks to his first XI for this game. Both Raheem Sterling and Trevoh Chalobah will get a chance to play from the start of this contest versus the Red Devils.

Defence

Dorde Petrovic will feature in between the sticks for the Blues after shipping in two goals in his last appearance. Trevoh Chalobah, who is a slight concern ahead of this game, will get a chance to impress alongside Benoit Badiashile at the heart of Pochettino’s defence as they try to keep the opposition at bay during the game.

Axel Disasi will fill in as the right-back while Marc Cucurella hopes to catch the eye on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them would be keen on keeping things tidy when defending inside their half.

Thiago Silva will offer cover for the defensive positions on the bench.

Midfield

Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo will anchor the midfield for Chelsea as they look to make life tough for the opposition at the centre of the park. The talented trio of Raheem Sterling, Conor Gallagher and Cole Palmer will play just ahead of them as part of Pochettino’s attack. All three of them need to combine well if they want to cause problems for the Man United defenders this Thursday night.

Noni Madueke will have to settle for a spot on the bench as he waits for his chance to influence the game in the second half if needed.

Attack

Nicolas Jackson will lead the charge for the West London club up top. He has to find a way to threaten the opponent’s goal during the 90 minutes.

Mykhailo Mudryk will be named on the bench as he awaits his chance to make an impact in the final quarter of the game if the Blues are in need of a goal by then.
