Bristol City Women’s new head coach is Stephen Kirby, who joins after two years with WSL side Leicester City.
Chairman Gavin Marshall told bcfc.co.uk: “We are really pleased with the appointment of Steve.
“His coaching pedigree, his reputation in the game and his vision for taking this team to the next level really stood out during a thorough recruitment process.
“We also want to say a massive thank you to Loren Dykes and the staff for doing a great job of managing the team over the past three weeks.”
The 39-year-old joins City on a two-year deal and will be in charge for the Robins’ trip to London City Lionesses on Sunday.
Head of Women’s Football, Romaney Pinnock added: “We had a lot of impressive candidates for the role, but Steve was the standout and we are looking forward to working with him.
“We know the potential of this group and it is an exciting time for the football club.”
Kirby said: “It is super exciting, and I am ready to kick on and try and get us back to the WSL.
“I have watched both games so far and I have been impressed with the performances. It is a club which fits my style and how I like the game to be played. I hope we can now get us firing on all cylinders.”
