Roma attacker Stephan El Shaarawy reflected on his life and career in the Italian capital in a recent interview with Idealista.

While discussing his favorite aspects about life in the Eternal City, El Shaarawy recalled the most meaningful moment in his career at the club.

“The first goal with the Roma shirt, scored on my debut at the Olimpico was very, very special. The most meaningful moment of my career,” said El Shaarawy, alluding to his first goal after joining the club in January 2016.

“It was an important goal: it was the goal that got us a victory, and was scored with the backheel and under the Curva Sud. It couldn’t have gone better.”

“Then there was everyone’s embrace, my teammates… a beautiful moment. That goal was liberating for me, very emotional. It came at the perfect time,” he added.
