Stefano Sensi’s Move Towards Sampdoria Has Been Slowed By Inter Following Coppa Italia Winner, Italian Media Claim

Stefano Sensi’s seemingly impending move to Sampdoria may not happen anymore after he scored the winning goal in the Coppa Italia match against Empoli and Joaquin Correa suffered an injury, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by Corriere dello Sport, the operation that would see Stefano Sensi join up with Sampdoria’s new coach Marco Giampaolo has been slowed by the club and the player.

This is because there is a collective hope that the extra time goal that he scored against Empoli in the Coppa Italia on Wednesday night will give him renewed confidence and he can start to perform for Inter.

The other factor is that Joaquin Correa suffered what looked to be a very serious thigh injury during the match. Tests still need to be run but he could face a spell on the sidelines, so Stefano Sensi could be kept as cover.
