Happy Tuesday! We’re on Fifa international break so there are only two games between now and October 1st!
Not to worry, we still have plenty to bring you today.
Świderski is Charlotte FC’s first-ever MLS Player of the Week after his dramatic brace in Charlotte’s 3-2 come-from-behind win over Chicago Fire.
Świderski scored the winner in the 96th minute to give his side all three points and take his goal tally to 10 on the season.
Despite Montreal earning their 8th-straight road win, a feat no club has accomplished since 2005, it’s another week without Wilfried Nancy being named Coach of the Week.
D.C. United forward Taxi Fountas was accused of using a racist slur towards Inter Miami’s Jamaican defender Damion Lowe over the weekend.
Manager Wayne Rooney immediately substituted Fountas after discussing the incident with Inter Miami manager and former England teammate Phil Neville.
Miami fullback DeAndre Yedlin corroborated Lowe’s story after the match.
Back in 2013, the U-17 USMNT played the match of their lives, defeating Brazil 4-1 in the final of the 2013 Nike International Friendlies tournament.
Christian Pulisic would score and be named tournament MVP while Haji Wright bagged a brace to secure the Golden Boot. Joe Gallardo, currently playing professionally in Mexico, also bagged a goal.
Luca da la Torre, Alejandro Zendejas, and Josh Perez were also on the pitch on that memorable day.
To be honest, not a whole lot. However, the MLS will release their “22 Under 22” list on Tuesday.
Whoever has finished at the very top has gone on to do extraordinary things.
