LA Galaxy confirmed defender A.J. DeLaGarza signed a one-day contract to officially retire as a member of the club.
“I am eternally grateful to have been a part of this club and when I thought about how I wanted to step away from the game, I knew I wanted it to be as a member of the LA Galaxy,” said DeLaGarza, who made 250 appearances.
“Beyond the trophies, the relationships with the fans, my teammates and staff throughout my career are ones I will cherish forever. Officially, Forever a G.”
Another MLS talent is making the jump to Europe after Philadelphia Union’s Paxten Aaronson signed for Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga.
The 19-year-old made 37 appearances registering four goals in 1,006 minutes, and signed a contract until 2027. His older brother, Brenden, has made headlines with Leeds United.
