The performance put forth by Real Madrid starlet Arda Güler in the club’s meeting with Las Palmas will likely have head coach Carlo Ancelotti taking into serious consideration another start for the Turk next time out.
Real, of course, marked their return to action on Thursday night, making the trip to Gran Canaria for a meeting with Las Palmas.
When all was said and done on a disappointing evening’s work for the reigning La Liga champions, they were forced to make do with a share of the spoils.
This came owing to an eventual 1-1 result.
And yet, had it not been for the contributions of a certain midfield starlet, things could actually have been far worse for Los Blancos.
With his side trailing by a goal to nil, the aforementioned Arda Güler was introduced to the fray on Thursday, in a bid to add some guile and creativity to an otherwise lacklustre attacking display.
And, to his credit, this is precisely what the 19-year-old went on to do.
Perfect touch, pinpoint passing, clever runs and even better positioning saw Güler give Las Palmas’ backline something entirely different to think about.
As much as evidenced in the stats, too, with the Turkish international, in just half an hour, having won a penalty, and created three chances for his teammates, two of which were considered ‘big’ chances.
Food for thought for Carlo Ancelotti and his coaching staff, after Güler’s starting streak was brought to an end after just one game.
Arda Güler created 3 chances, 2 big chances & won a penalty in 28 minutes vs Las Palmas tonight.–
