Max Kilman is the latest West Ham player to offer up more words to try and cover up a dreadful season in east London.
Despite much promise over the summer, it’s clear for all to see (aside from the West Ham hierarchy) that the appointment of Julen Lopetegui has been a disastrous one, yet the club appear keen to cling onto the Spaniard as long as possible.
The latest drubbing, a 5-0 home loss at the hands of Liverpool, appears the be the final straw for most, with many fans and ex players calling for the club to act and stop letting this season fall away. It’s reported that Graham Potter is eager and waiting to take over.
However, once again the club are sitting on their hands and offering more lines of explanation, as Max Kilman is the next in line to offer empty words of wisdom.
“It’s just a tough moment,” the defender told the clubs Official Website. “We’ve got to look at ourselves because we’re all much better than that, and we’ve come off a good run of form recently against good sides.
“We must get back to the training pitch and go again because we’ve got big games coming up, so we have to make sure we’re ready for them, put in 100 per cent and start performing good again.
“Of course, it’s Liverpool, but we’re also a top side, and we’re playing at home, so we needed to show more of ourselves to them and perform better than that. We had to be on the front foot against them, had to dominate more and be more aggressive.
