Of course, the Kyle Walker-Peters transfer saga.

Since the winter transfer window started, the defender's situation has been the most tracked one in the Premier League. Though, finally a conclusion seems near, it goes to Southampton's disadvantage.

The past few days have expressed Galatasaray's interest in Walker-Peters deal quite clearly. To the extent that the Saints are reported(via Daily Mail) to be offered £8m for the versatile full-back.

Now, while it appears to be a win-win situation for Southampton, here's the catch.

As per the Daily Mail reports, Kyle Walker-Peters has expressed his heart clear, to complete his contract at Southampton. Being in the last six months of his Saints deal, the defender wants to bid farewell to St. Mary's being a free agent.

With this Walker-Peters decision, Southampton feels like losing much more than someone may expect.

In an ideal world, the Saints wanted to renew Kyle Walker-Peters. That didn't happen. Then they tried to extract a part of the money they vested in him with his sale. Sadly, even this didn't happen, and now the defender would leave for free in the summer.

Though nothing is wrong with the defender's choice, it still feels a betrayal to the Saints. Undoubtedly, Walker-Peters has been the best player for them in the last few years, but it might not be a great farewell for the 27-year-old, as he wishes it to be.

Nevertheless, as Saints fans who have faced much bigger setbacks this season, this doesn't feel very heartbreaking. For us, all hard feelings would vanish if Walker-Peters and others could save a relegation still.
