Stankovic: “Jose Mourinho & My Inter Treble Winning Teammates Support Me” | OneFootball

Inter legend Dejan Stankovic has spoken on the support he has received from former Inter manager Jose Mourinho and some of his former teammates having become the manager of Red Star Belgrade recently.

“During my career, many coaches have participated in my development, both from a football and human perspective. Jose Mourinho has played an important role in this. We wrote history with Inter by winning the treble together,” he explained in an interview with Serbian broadcaster SportKlub.

“We speak with each other and he congratulated me and he was very surprised. Of course, after he got over the surprise, the conversation continued in a professional manner.”

Stankovic, who spent nine trophy filled years with Inter between 2004 and 2013, went on to add: “The rest of the WhatsApp group that has the treble winners in it have offered me lots of encouragement and many congratulations. A few jokes were also made but everyone showed me support.”
