Celtic defender Auston Trusty has reacted to the excellent draw against Atalanta. The Scottish Champions were resolute at the back and kept a clean sheet to seal a well-deserved point on the road in the UEFA Champions League.
Trusty, a £6m arrival from Sheffield United, was very impressive in the game as he battled, headed and tackled at every opportunity. Taking to Twitter/X, the USA Internationalist reacted to the result, stating he was proud of his teammates and it was a great point.
Trusty hasn’t had the easiest of starts since arriving in the summer, playing behind Carter-Vickers and Scales then coming into the team for his compatriot on the right side. Shipping seven goals in Dortmund will not have helped the confidence in the new summer signing, nor did a few shaky moments against Aberdeen; however, the player stood up and was absolutely fantastic against the Europa League holders.
The performance will hopefully do the player the world of confidence and it will be interesting to see which one of the left sided defenders will partner Carter-Vickers as Scales was equally impressive in the game this evening. The Irishman is often an unsung hero but he has continually stepped up and impressed.
