Standard Liege pursuing Patro Eisden star | OneFootball

Sudinfo are reporting that Standard Liege are looking to sign Adnane Abid this summer. The winger, who played for Patro Eisden last season, has been the subject of a bid from the Pro League side of around €1.25m. It is not clear yet if this has been accepted, but it should not cost too much more for Standard to get a deal over the line. Abid and Patro missed out on promotion through the play-offs this season, coming up against a Cercle Brugge side led by Bernd Storck who were just far too strong for them over two legs.

Abid had a fantastic season in the second tier, and it is not surprising that Pro League clubs are after him. The former Eupen and Genk prospect joined Patro for free at the start oft he 2024/2025 campaign. He went on to play 36 games across all competitions, scoring eight goals and providing 12 assists.

Standard were one of the worst sides going forward last season and really need to shake things up going forward. Bringing in a creative player like the 21-year-old Abid is certainly a step in the right direction. The side are also working on bringing Axel Witsel back to the club.
