As reported by L’Équipe, Standard Liège defender Nathan Ngoy (22) is set to join Lille OSC. The Belgian youth international has completed his medical and is expected to sign a five-year deal with the Ligue 1 side.

The transfer fee is understood to be €4.5m, with Lille upping their offer after a previous €2m bid was rejected by Standard earlier in the window.

Ngoy is a right-sided central defender and is regarded as a player with significant potential despite suffering several injuries early in his career – including a cruciate ligament rupture, hamstring issues, and meniscus damage. He has represented Belgium at youth level from U15 to U19.

This move could also signal future planning from LOSC, who are facing intense Premier League interest in current starting centre-back Bafodé Diakité, particularly from Bournemouth and Sunderland. Lille are understood to be holding firm on a valuation north of €40m for the 23-year-old.GFFN | George Boxall
