The Daily Mail report that Stan Kroenke will help ease the financial burden at Arsenal by injecting cash during the current coronavirus crisis. Kroenke has reportedly guaranteed he’ll pump millions of pounds into Arsenal to soften the blow of the situation.

David Ornstein of The Athletic writes that the Kroenkes plan to ‘cover financial commitments at Arsenal’. He clarifies that the club will stick to their self-sustaining model as much as possible, but Kroenke will certainly cover financial commitments going forward.

Basically, it seems the Kroenkes are stepping in to make sure that employee wages and other unpaid debts are covered. This isn’t a case of the owners bolstering Arsenal’s summer budget, just making sure nobody goes out of business.

After all, that’s what’s really important right now. We can worry about whether Arsenal can afford Dayot Upamecano when football is back and jobs are safe. For now, we need the billionaire owners of Premier League clubs to guarantee they won’t leave us stranded.
