Squad depth and an attacking style of play could be among three factors favouring Inter Milan in the Serie A title race.
This is the view in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Inter certainly have a tough task on their hands in the Serie A title race. However, it’s not an impossible one.
Napoli’s surprise draw against Udinese yesterday showed that Inter will have chances to catch up at the top. If they can avenge Thursday’s loss to Fiorentina with a win this evening, they’ll be within a point of the league leaders.
In the view of the Gazzetta, there are three particular factors that can favour Inter Milan over the remainder of the season.
Firstly, there is the depth of Inter’s squad.

More than Napoli, the Nerazzurri can afford to do without and rest players. They are not overly reliant on a single starting eleven.
Then, there is the attacking style of play that Inter have in Serie A.
The Gazzetta argue that this can be either a positive or a negative for Inter.
When the Nerazzurri do not pass the ball quickly enough, they can become predictable and fail to create chances.
But more often than not, Inter Milan have an attacking plan that is nearly impossible to stop.
For that reason, the Nerazzurri have scored 56 goals so far this season.
In the view of the Gazzetta, that is a testament to Inter’s reliable ability to create good chances. That can be a decisive advantage over Napoli.
