Rangers are on the verge of finalising a loan move for Tottenham forward Mikey Moore.

The 17-year-old, widely considered one of the most exciting young prospects in English football, has opted for a season in the Scottish Premiership to aid his development.

The deal - pending a medical - will include a contract extension at Spurs, allowing Moore to spend the full campaign at Ibrox.

Tottenham confirmed that Moore was among a group of youngsters, including Alfie Devine and Dane Scarlett who were left out of the club’s pre-season tour of Asia. The trio have remained in the UK to secure loan moves, while the senior squad prepare for a clash against Arsenal in Hong Kong on Thursday.

Frank: 'Young players need games'

When asked about Moore’s future, Spurs boss Thomas Frank said on Tuesday:

“It is very important [he goes on loan]. Mikey is a big talent. I’m really excited about his future here at Tottenham.

I think, for all players, but especially younger players, they need consistent first-team football into their bodies. I think, if we can find the right option, we will do that.”

Moore made history in May 2024 by becoming the youngest player to feature for Spurs in the Premier League, debuting at 16 years and 277 days.

He followed that up in October by becoming the club’s youngest-ever Premier League starter.

During Tottenham’s Europa League-winning campaign last season, Moore also broke a long-standing club record - surpassing Jimmy Greaves to become the youngest English goalscorer in a major European competition.
