Tottenham Hotspur have released five players following a challenging campaign in the Barclays Women’s Super League.

The Lilywhites announced the news this morning via a post on their official club website.

Those players being released are defenders Kerys Harrop and Esther Morgan, midfielder Cho So-hyun and forwards Kyah Simon and Chioma Ubogagu. On-loan Arsenal attacker Mana Iwabuchi will return to her parent club.

Centre-back Harrop is arguably the highest-profile departure with the player having been a regular for Spurs this season. Midfielder Cho made nine appearances for the club in the Barclays Women’s Super League in 2022/2023 while forward Ubogagu struggled for game time after returning from a ban for testing positive for a prohibited substance. Australian international Simon has been sidelined for most of the campaign with an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury while youngster Morgan was sent out on loan to Coventry United and Sunderland to get some minutes under her belt.

Following this morning’s announcement, Spurs’ managing director Andy Rogers said “I want to put on record my appreciation for all of the players who are moving on and we all wish them the very best in their future endeavours.

“All of these players have played an important part in our journey and it’s never easy to say goodbye to those who have made such significant contributions to the Club both on and off the pitch.”

Further squad updates will be provided by the club in due course.
