Next Saturday is looking interesting, Alexander Isak and his Newcastle United teammates playing away at Spurs.

I know we have Man U away on Monday night to come first, however, the news coming out of Spurs is undoubtedly encouraging ahead of next weekend.

The number of unavailable Spurs players giving Newcastle United every encouragement. With an added bonus on Sunday afternoon.

Spurs were at home to relegation threatened Wolves today and leading 2-1 heading into the late stages, the home side were rocked by an 87th minute equaliser depriving them of two points. Meaning they have now won only one of their last seven Premier League games and that was against rock bottom Southampton.

It is eight weeks since Spurs won at home in the Premier League.

Spurs had another even later blow in this Wolves match, as Urguay international midfielder Bentancur was booked in the seventh minute of added time. As that was his fifth PL yellow of the season, he now misses the Newcastle United match on Saturday.

Today saw Spurs once again missing all of their central defenders, apart from Radu Dragusin.

Ange Postecoglou forced to once again play 18 year old midfielder Archie Gray as an emergency centre-back. Alexander Isak take note!

First choice pairing Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven are long-term absentees and Ben Davies is also missing. So for sure it looks like the Spurs boss will have to play the 18 year old midfielder once again in the middle of defence, against Newcastle United.

Former NUFC keeper Fraser Forster continues to look dodgy, adding to their defensive chaos, with first choice keeper Vicario long-term injured.

Richarlison is another player who is currently out for Spurs.

Whilst against Wolves today, Ange Postecoglou also watched defender Udogie limp off in the 50th minute, with surely him having no chance as well of facing United.

Newcastle United have won their last four matches in domestic competition, whilst they have scored 19 goals in their last six games in Premier League and Carabao Cup, Alexander Isak with seven goals in these last half dozen matches.

Spurs have now conceded 17 goals in their last six games in the Premier League and Carabao Cup, conceding an incredible 15 goals in their last four home matches!

Obviously Newcastle United will still have to play well if they can hope to defeat Spurs next Saturday, however, the defensive issues for Tottenham are clearly a serious issue, as well as other injured players, with Bentancur’s one match suspension simply adding to their problems for the Newcastle United game.

For Newcastle United, we have two players who are on four bookings and need to get through the Man U game without another yellow, if they are to face Spurs, they are Fabian Schar and Sandro Tonali. If they can both successfully do that, then the 19 match point will have been passed in the Premier League for NUFC, with no ban for getting five yellows any more, instead you need 10 bookings in the PL in the opening 32 Premier League games to trigger a two game ban.
