Last weekend was once again full of action for Spurs loanees, both in the UK and on the continent. There is no rest for the wicked, however, and there are a number of games this midweek. Let's take a look.
In the Championship, Will Lankshear and his West Bromwich Albion side are away to Burnley, whom are managed by former Spurs midfielder Scott Parker. It has been a tough start to life in the West Midlands, totalling just x minutes of action since he joined on loan at the end of the winter transfer window. He was an unused sub last time out against QPR. Kick off here is 19:45 GMT on Tuesday.
Elsewhere, after starting that aforementioned game against West Brom, Yang Min-hyeok will hope he has done enough to retain his place, as QPR travel to the North East to face Middlesbrough – also managed by a former Spurs midfielder in Michael Carrick. Another 19:45 GMT kick off on Tuesday for this one.
Then, on Wednesday evening – Ashley Phillips and his Stoke City side will be hosting Blackburn Rovers – the defender’s boyhood club, whom Spurs signed him from. Should they lose this game, they could end the gameweek just one point above the relegation zone. 20:00 GMT kick off for this one, live on Sky Sports for those of you in the UK.
In League One, Matthew Craig’s Mansfield Town side are in action down in the South West, as they face Exeter City. Who knows if we will see the player in action, he has not featured since the 18th of January, and has only been in the match day squad once since then. This game is tonight, and will kick off at 19:45 GMT.
Down in League Two, there is an absolutely huge game for George Abbott and his Notts County side, as they face Grimsby Town tonight. Coming into the game, Grimsby are in 8th position, with 56 points from their 35 games, meanwhile Notts are in 5th place, with 58 points from their 35 games – so they would be leapfrogged with a defeat tonight.
It has been a terrible run of form for Abbott’s side, who have only picked up one win in their last six games. At one stage it looked like they had a strong chance of finishing in the automatic promotion spots, but now their place in the play-offs entirely is beginning to look in jeopardy. They have struggled in these bigger games so far this season, so now is a good chance to put that right. Kick off 19:45 GMT.
