In the Championship, there was action for Ashley Phillips and his Stoke City side, as well as Yang Min-hyeok and his new QPR side, with both Spurs loanees in action at 15:00 GMT on Saturday afternoon.

How things happened in the Championship across Saturday

To begin, Phillips was again named in the starting XI by manager Mark Robins, as Stoke travelled to face Hull City. It would be the nightmare start for the Potters, whom fell behind after just six minutes of the game. However, two minutes before half time, they were able to find an equaliser, and the sides went into the break at 1-1.

Then, with a little over a quarter of an hour of the game to go, Stoke managed to get their noses in front. From there, they were able to see the game out, despite a late onslaught from their hosts, and pull off a huge 2-1 victory on the road. Hull had beaten second place Sheffield United 3-0 last week, so this was a seriously impressive win.

As a result of this result, they have leapfrogged their hosts in the Championship table, and now sit in 18th place, with 32 points from their 30 games so far – five points above the relegation zone.

Elsewhere, Yang Min-hyeok was named amongst the substitutes for QPR’s trip across London to face Millwall, and former Spurs academy player Japhet Tanganga. It was an insane start to the game, with Millwall taking the lead within the first minute, and then QPR having the scores level within the first three minutes. Then the hosts retook the lead after 25 minutes.

With fourteen minutes remaining, Min-hyeok was introduced to the action for his QPR debut. Within two minutes, he forced a save from Millwall goalkeeper Lukas Jensen, with a fiercly struck shot across goal. Unfortunately, QPR would lose the game 2-1, but it was great to see him make his first appearance in English football nonetheless.

This defeat leaves the R’s sitting in14thn place in the Championship table, with 38 points from their 30 games so far.
