Tottenham have joined Liverpool in the race to sign Lorenzo Pellegrini this summer from AS Roma, according to a report in Italy.

The midfield ranks at Anfield are a little lighter now that Gini Wijnaldum has left the club, with him completing his move to PSG last week.

Indeed, we’re now waiting to see whether the Reds are going to move for a new midfielder to boost options once more, with a whole host of names getting linked.

Among them, Lorenzo Pellegrini has been touted as a potential Liverpool player but, according to La Repubblica in Italy, Spurs are also now keen on the player as well.

The Italian is a good player and it is clear there is some level of attention in him from the Premier League.

Liverpool and Spurs are both linked but whether either makes a move for him remains to be seen.

The player has just one year left on his contract at Roma at the moment so could be available for a lower price if he does end up moving this summer.

He’s an Italian international that is approaching his prime years as a footballer and could be a decent signing for anyone that gets him.
