As you all know, we are have reached the third international break of the season, and the final one of 2024. With it, there are several Spurs players representing their countries. You know about the senior call ups, but what about the age group call ups? Let’s take a look.
To begin, Archie Gray and Dane Scarlett (on loan at Oxford United) are in the England U21 squad for their friendlies against Spain and the Netherlands U21s. They face Spain on Friday, at 17;30 GMT, before facing the Netherlands on Monday, with a 17:45 GMT kick off. Gray helped England U21s qualify for the Euros next summer last month with wins against Ukraine and Azerbaijan.
This will come as some useful game time for Gray, whose minutes for Spurs have been limited to the Carabao Cup and Europa League so far. There is no doubt he will be needed in the league at some point, so his match sharpness being the best it can be is optimal.
Ashley Phillips (on loan at Stoke City) and Will Lankshear have been named in the England U20 squad for games against Germany and Poland. They host Germany in the U20 elite league, on Friday, at 19:00 GMT, before facing Poland on the road in a friendly, next Tuesday, at 16:00 GMT. England are currently top of the elite league, with 10 points from four games, though Germany are second with nine points from three games, so this is quite an important match up.
At the moment, Phillips is going through his most consistent period of game time and fitness at Stoke, starting all of their last four games. Lankshear scored his first ever senior goal against Galatasaray, an incredible moment for him, regardless of how it ended up.
After scoring a wonder goal in the last camp, there is no England U19 (or otherwise) for Mikey Moore, presumably due to the illness that kept him out of the games against Galatasaray and Ipswich Town last week. Everything crossed that he is over it as soon as possible.
Callum Olusei is in the England U18 squad for their game against Poland on Friday, at 11:00 GMT. If they win that game, they will play Germany or Belgium on Monday. Should they lose, they will play the loser of the Germany vs Belgium game.
Malachi Hardy is in the England U17 squad for their double header against Belgium. The first game is on Friday, at 18:00 GMT, before the second game on Monday, at 11:00 GMT. Both games appear to be on the road.
