According to French outlet L’Equipe (h/t Football. London), Tottenham Hotspur are planning to make a move for Lyon’s talented attacking midfielder Lucas Paqueta this summer after failing to land him in the January transfer window.
Tottenham made a £33.5 million bid for the talented attacking midfielder back in January, when Newcastle United were also interested in his services. However, a move failed to materialise and the Samba star stayed put in Ligue 1.
Paqueta joined Lyon from AC Milan in 2020 and since then has impressed consistently for the French outfit. He has gone on to become one of the most exciting talents in European football ever since.

In 42 games for the French giants this season, the 24-year-old attacking-midfielder has scored 10 goals and provided seven assists across all competitions. These numbers are very impressive and it comes as no surprise that Premier League clubs are interested in him.
Arsenal are also said to be huge fans of the talented Brazilian star but the player is said to prefer a move to Spurs and play under Antonio Conte rather than moving to The Emirates.
Paqueta is a solid option for Spurs
Tottenham have had a really impressive summer transfer window making exceptional signings this season. They have added Richarlison, Clement Lenglet, Djed Spence amongst others to reinforce their squad.
They are already on their way to building a very competitive squad for next season and adding Lucas Paqueta to the mix will mean that Antonio Conte will have a squad which can compete on all fronts.
